BLACKBURG Va — A Virginia Tech student from Va. Beach was found dead Friday night on campus. The Collegiate Times reports : His body was found by Virginia Tech Police at about 11 p.m. on Friday without a pulse. The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad performed CPR for 20 minutes before taking him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. The Virginia Tech Police Department has no reason to suspect foul play. The cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner’s office, which is waiting on a toxicology report, according to Va. Tech university.

Virginia Tech is not alone these days as student deaths on university and college campuses rise in the United States. College students no longer have curfews. There are no Dorm Mothers in residence, because most dorms are now co-ed. The libraries are open later or open all night. Drinking seems to be almost encouraged by universities and college policies that permit alcohol at campus events, in dorm rooms and to be served in campus dining facilities. Violent crime and rape is also on the rise on campus and student hangouts off campus. What is your kid’s college doing to protect your kid?

Like I have noted before, you should go a step further than reading a university’s brochure and public states about security — and do what many parents are doing – hiring a reputable local private investigator to verify the security arrangements for students on campus and to do a risk assessment of the campus and the surrounding neighborhood and maybe even a short period of video surveillance to provide you with both peace of mind and real safety for your kids.

Risk and crime awareness can prevent future campus victims. Be aware – demand accountability. Hire the best private detective near the Virginia Tech campus in Roanoke, Virginia — James Pollock, Bulldog PI, Private Detective, Roanoke, Virginia VA
