Occupy Wall Street Movement: Civil unrest is coming.

November 4, 2011

Well, the BulldogPI has seen the handwriting on the wall for some time concerning the ‘Occupy’ movement.   As far as I know, member of the movement have yet to really formulate any sort of realistic goal.  Do they really expect the “one percent” to just wake up one morning and decide they’ve been cruel and heartless and it’s time to share their wealth?   Please.

I remember quite clearly my own reality check after graduating from college with a humanities degree almost twenty years ago.   No one came beating down my door offering all sorts of lucrative opportunities, but somehow camping out in city park and griping about it to whomever happened by didn’t occur to me.

As colder weather sets in,  our nation remains ‘occupied.’    Not very surprising that some demonstrators will tire  of waiting for postive change to miraculously appear.   The promise of change didn’t materialize after Obama took office, and it’s unlikely to  arrive on the scene simply because a segment of the population has become vocal with  their frustrations.    We even have OWS sympathsizers protesting onVirginia Tech’s Campus, and in Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Roanoke.

Just how far things will go isn’t quite clear to me.  I do however think it would be a wise course of action to keep a close eye on events unfolding.

  1. BulldogPI,
I think you are right about the change in weather and the approach of mid-term exams.
With 9%-17% unemployment, there are alot of people with nothing better to do that go down town and join the rally and check out the other women and men protesting against the corporate establishment and corrupt powers of our government. But for the moment, the weather is nice and being outside before Winter comes is very appealing to the young and the unemployed.
    Power to the People!

Don’t forget to buy your remembrance t-shrit:
