It’s time to schedule a protest of Westboro Baptist Church.

December 12, 2011

Congratulations Fred Phelps, you’re now on my dirtball list.

From an older CNN article:

“….the church announced its intention to picket the funeral of a 9-year-old girl — one of six people who died Saturday during the attempted assassination of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords — Gilmer and others in the college town put their feet down….”

But a flier released by the church about the picket targets the Roman Catholic Church because Christina and her family were members.

“God hates Catholics!” the flier, posted on the church’s “God Hates Fags” website, says. “God calls your religion ‘vain,’ as it’s empty of His truth; you worship idols!”

Now in an truely vulgar act, good old Fred has decided to bring his cult again to Blacksburg.  This time  to  protest the funeral of fallen Virginia Tech officer Dereik Crouse.  Fred Phelps, you are what I like to refer to as…. ‘special.’

This has the Bulldog’s blood boiling a bit this morning.  Hey Fred Phelps, a message for you:

Stop lying to your misguided flock. You of all people certainly don’t have a hotline to God.  If your messages of hatred and anger reveal some sort of blessed insight, then I’m the Easter bunny.   If there is one particular type of people that the Divine Creator isn’t fond of, then you would make the perfect poster child to represent them.   I’ll euphemistically refer to this group of individuals as “doodyheads.”

Do us all a favor and shut up.   I truly believe that we all come to answer for our actions, whether it’s in this life or the next.  You think your messages of hate earn you Karma points?  Think again…moron.

Speaking of making points, the Westboro Baptist Church made quite an impression with their low class, poor taste protest in Blacksburg two years ago.    It’s time for Hokies to show our appreciation for all your nice friendly visits to our community in mourning.  I’ve decided to offer $500.00 in sponsorship towards a WBC  field trip.     Why should Westboro always have to pick up the tab?    Someone needs to bring the party right to the the front steps of their church… and I’ve decided to volunteer.

Phelps, what do you know about the pain of loosing a child?  A loving spouse?  Even a owl dropping like you might have a slightly different perspective if you had been through such unimaginable pain.

If your true objective is to show everyone  the strength of your “moral fiber:”

I challenge you to come protest ME.  Dirtball.  Leave Virginia Tech alone.

Let me know if you need directions.

Some additional and quite enlightening information on Mr. Phelps:

Nate Phelps, the estranged son of Fred Phelps has a website and provides some pretty enlightening information on how off the deep end his father has gone:

This doctrine is very important to understanding the Westboro Baptist Church.  My father, and those who follow him, are not preaching to try to convince people of their truth.  Unlike street evangelists, who are trying to convert people, my father has no intention of converting anyone, since conversion is impossible.  You’re either chosen, or you’re not.

My father was never one to act passively or even moderately to biblical instructions.  If he was instructed not to love the world he would actively hate it!
Throughout the years of my youth, he systematically expressed his hatred for each of our neighbors, and for the entire community – usually directly to their faces.  For him, this had the effect of isolating us further…just as god had instructed.

Anyone who claimed to be a believer, but didn’t subscribe to my father’s interpretation of the scriptures, was quickly declared to be excluded from god’s grace for any number of flaws in their doctrine.  For example, the Lord’s Supper was to be performed with unleavened bread and wine only.  If you used grape juice, you were going to hell.  If the loaf wasn’t a single loaf, unleavened, broken by hand, you were guilty of desecrating the body of Christ.  If you had ever divorced, had sex outside marriage, married a divorced person, felt empathy for a gay person — or simply crossed Fred — you were the enemy.

BTW, they did not apply for a permit with Blacksburg. So they may have been all talk. Again.

20/20 had an interesting piece on the children a couple of weeks ago.

  2. One might also note that WBC condemns U.S. troops for working for the gov’t, yet several WBC members (though not Shirley Phelps-Roper) also work for the gov’t, as employees of the Kansas Dept. of Corrections. Didn’t Jesus speak out against hypocrisy and double-standards?

Moreover, in the story of the Good Samaritan, the Samaritan helped the half-dead robbery victim. He didn’t do a jig, or promise to hold up a sign reading “Thank God for Dead Robbery Victims” if the fellow died. Jesus ended the story with, “Go you therefore, and do likewise.”
